Worlds smallest steam engine is of (1 divided by 3000)mm

When there was the age of steam engines there was a conception of bigger being better but in todays world every rhing is getting smaller and smaller, may be it is computer ,mobile phones  or any thing else.An interesting invention has been done  by the scientists of Stuttgart university in Germany. They have successfully made a steam egine whose size is 3000th part of a millimeter.

It also works on the same principle on which the earlier engine used to work.Actually in steam engines water is heated and cooled besause of which the expansion and contraction happens which helps the piston to move.Further the piston rotates the wheel and the engine moves ahead.

According to the scintists they have just made the particle of the shape which could be assembled to form an engine which works on the same principle on which the steam engine conventionally works .It moves in the water and can be seen moving with the help of microscope.steam engine was inented 200 years ago by Robert sterlling

The scientist further say Our experiments provide us with an initial insight into the energy balance of a heat engine operating in microscopic dimensions. Although our machine does not provide any useful work as yet, there are no thermodynamic obstacles, in principle, which prohibit this in small dimensions
