I won’t apologise to Indian Medical Association (IMA): Aamir Khan

Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan, refused to apologies to the Indian Medical Association and said he is ready to face any legal action threatened by it. During the 4th episode of the show Satyamev Jayate, Aamir Khan exposed the worst side of Medical Profession where the Doctor’s are no more a savior but a money making body, even at the cost of the life of their patients. Aamir raised the issue of health facilities and problem in India. After that Aamir was asked by IMA and other 21 medical institutes to apologies.

The IMA had demanded an immediate apology from Aamir and warned him of legal action if he failed to do so.

“Aamir Khan should apologies for having defamed and given one side of the story on medical profession. If he does not we are contemplating to take legal action against him for defaming and demoralizing the medical profession in his TV show,”

Aamir said he had received two kinds of responses from the medical profession after the episode was aired. One was the kind of response that IMA has given while the other one has been “extremely positive” from doctors.

“I have received letters from various doctors saying that they are so happy when they saw the show that finally someone is talking about this because this is something they were upset about and did not know how to deal with,” he said.

The doctors say that through the show actor has sent a wrong message to the society, which could eventually harm the patient-doctor relationship.

“We don’t have an ego issue with him. We are demanding an apology from his because he has hurt five lakh doctors of the medical community, from young doctors to the oldest ones. We are demanding an apology so that the wounds he has given to the doctors heal,”

Well as far as the Show is concerned, the sow not only brought in front the malpractices being practiced in the medical profession but also presented the good side of the profession. There are still many doctors who are an idol to the doctors and society and give main priority to their patients and not the money.
