Microsoft has announced that windows 8 will be in the market for PCs and tablets till next year. This statement was made by the Microsoft CEO on Monday. They also reveled that now a windows phone will have 500 updated features.
The microsoft chief was attending a developers meet in Tokyo when he made this statement. He also added that windows phone-7 which will be launched today on Tuesday will have 500 updated features.
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer on Monday said ,
“As we progress through the year, you ought to expect to hear a lot about Windows 8. Windows 8 slates, tablets, PCs, a variety of different form factors.”
While he was announcing that microsoft has sold 350 windows PCs cds this year he said
“We have done a lot in Windows 7 to improve customer satisfaction. We have a brand-new user interface. We have added touch and ink and speech. And yet, as we look forward to the next generation of Windows systems, which will come out next year, there is a whole lot more coming.”
“But we are moving forward very actively. We launched Windows Phones last November. We have done a set of upgrades. We have a release that will come to the market later this year in Japan. Not only this new release will be much more global, but we have added over 500 new features to Windows Phone.”
Microsoft has now made tie-up with Nokia which will now have windows 7 phone as their main smartphone. The windows 7 phone has been described as answer of microsoft to the statement
“poor smartphone design that keeps people fumbling with their phones as they walk down the block or sit down to dinner with family”
