Wild Card Entry For Somdev Into Australian Open

Indian Tennis Player Somdev Devvarman got a wild card entry for this month Australian Open. Somdev current ranking is 108.

Taiwan’s Chang Kai-chen has also received a wild card entry into Australian Open. Her current ranking is 117th & this will be her second Australian Open main draw appearance.

The 25-year-old Indian and the Taiwanese teen were handed the wildcards “as part of the Australian Open’s profile as the Grand Slam of Asia Pacific”, the organisers said in a statement.

In 2010 Somdev  won the Men’s Tennis gold medal in the Commonwealth Games at Delhi.  Somdev also won the Men’s Singles Tennis gold medal in the 2010 Asian Games at Guangzhou

Well Somdev gets a golden opportunity to climb higher in the ranking
