Walt Disney is on the way towards India with 14 new projects and 5 of these projects are in the final stages of planning.
The company is serious about producing family-oriented films in India the company think that India is one of the top market for investment in local content. Executives of Walt Disney Company recently received the Foreign Investments Promotion Board’s approval to invest Rs 1,000 Crore in India.
There are few projects in the regional space and the company is starting with South India as it is an important market and will be helpful for increasing Disney’s brand throughout India.The South Indian epic fantasy, a Telegu-language movie which will be dubbed in Tamil, is scheduled for release in January next year which is yet-to-be named.

Other Hollywood companies are also looking at production as the new business opportunity. “We are in the process of establishing ourselves as a one-stop shop for producers and are looking to coproduce atleast five Bollywood films in India an an average” Vijay Singh, chief executive officer,Star-Fox said.
