Venu Nagavalli Malayalam director and Actor Died

Venu Nagavalli (1949-2010) was died yesterday at Kings Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram at 1.30 am.Venu Nagavalli was ailing for some time due to kidney-related diseases.Venu Nagavalli was a grate Malayalam director and also an Indian actor.


Venu Nagavalli was a good screenwriter and director of Malayalam cinema.Son of late writer,commentator and broadcaster Nagavally R S Kurup,Venu has acted in around 50 films and directed a so many odd movies. Venu Nagavally died at Thiruvananthapuram on 9 September 2010. He is survived by his wife and his son Vivek.



Venu started his career as an announcer in Akasavani. Venu also sanu a song in the movie Chottanikkara Amma but Venu Nagavalli noticed only in 1978 when he acted in the movie Ulkkatal directed by K. G. George.After that he starting his acting career in movies.His noted movies as an actor are Shalini Ente Koottukari, Meenamasathile Sooryan,Pakshe, Chillu,etc.

Venu’s first movie as a director was Sukhamo Devi(1986) which he himself describes as as his own tragical love story. Later he directed the superhit movies Lal Salam,Aey Auto,Aayirappara etc.

Venu has also written scripts for a few movies. His first movie as a script writer was Ee Ganam Marakkumo. Others include Sukhamo Devi, Sarvakalashala, Ardtham, Aey Auto, Kizhakkunarum Pakshi, Kilukkam, Kalippattam etc.
Kilukkam, one of the biggest superhits in the Malayalam film industry, is a finest example of his efficiency in screenplay and dialogue writing, also exposing his unmatchable humour sense.
