The Chandigarh Housing Board, a Chandigarh Administration undertaking, was established in the year 1976 by extending the Haryana Housing Board Act, 1971 to the Union Territory of Chandigarh. According to Housing-cum-Finance Secretary, UT Administration, Sanjay Kumar, the CHB has decided to build 10,816 flats in Sector 49 (Group I and II); Dhanas; Ram Darbar and Sector 26 (E). The construction is expected to get over by June 2010 and the total cost of the project will be Rs 51.34 crore.
The Board has maintained a reputation for providing well designed houses with excellent quality of construction at very affordable prices. This is probably why CHB schemes are much awaited and obtain an excellent response from the public.
