Sridevi on Ramp for Sabyasachi Mukherjee at Delhi Couture Week (DCW) 2012

Bollywood actress Sridevi who turns on 49 yesterday walks the ramp on August 12, 2012 to showcase a creation by designer Sabyasachi during the 5th Day of PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2012 at hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi.

The actress who is making her comeback on the big screen with English Vinglish looked gorgeous in a heavily embroidered lehenga teamed with a black blouse.

The show started with Sridevi walking the ramp accompanied by Shinde, who also looked gorgeous in a black khadi sari.

The happy & excited Sridevi said;

“I am huge fan of Sabya’s design. The way he uses intricate hand-work on his collection is just fantastic ‘I love what he designed for me and I am looking forward for many more associations in the future.”

After the show Mukherjee said;

“Me and my sister have always admired her beauty and for me I think, she is someone who look fantastic and whatever she wears. It was my honour to design for her as she is one of the most beautiful women Bollywood would ever have.”

Sridevi is an Indian film actress born on 13 August 1963. Sridevi has worked in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and a few Kannada films. Starting to act at the age of four, she made her debut as an adult in the late 1970s. She is regarded as one of the greatest and most popular actresses of Hindi Cinema. She is also often cited as “The First Female Superstar of the Indian Cinema“.

After establishing herself as one of the leading actresses of Hindi cinema, she left the industry in 1997 to raise her children. During her career, she has won four Filmfare Awards—two for Hindi films, and one each for Tamil and Telugu films. Sridevi is often cited by film media as one of the best actresses of Indian Cinema.

Sridevi married Boney Kapoor, a film producer and the elder brother of actors Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, in 1996. They have two daughters, Jhanvi and Khushi.
