After Star Plus Satyamev Jayate and Zee TV’s Ramayan, it is time for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saraswatichandra to follow suit. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut TV show Saraswatichandra is being aired in Star Plus and Doordashan simultaneously.
The series premiered on February 25, 2013 & this was the first time that any fiction show on Indian television is being telecast on two channels.
Saraswatichandra is based on the famous Gujarati novel Saraswatichandra written by Govardhanram Tripathi. Saraswatichandra is brought by a well known Indian film Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The show star popular television star Gautam Rode and Jennifer Winget in lead roles of Sarawatichandra & Kumud Sundari.
Television actor Anirudh Singh, (Adarsh of Pratigya) will essay the role of Saraswatichandra’s close friend Sunny who will be like a brother to him. Shiny Doshi, who was seen with Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan in Santoor beauty soap ad was playing the role of Jennifer’s sister Kusum.
Indian actress Monica Bedi was playing the role of Ghuman, Saraswatichandra’s step-mother & television actor Chetan Pandit (Suraj Pratap Sindhia of Punar Vivah) was playing the role of Laxminandan, Saraswatichandra’s father. The show also feature the very famous Indian film, television and stage actor Vikram Gokhale as Kumud’s father.
While the show Saraswatichandra was aired at Star Plus at 7.30 pm and 11 pm, it will be shown on Doordarshan at 9.30 pm.
