HCL Technologies Ltd. a well known indian computer servies,mostly known for making world’s cheapest laptop will soon launch Sakshat,a $35 indian tablet in January 2011. This will be the cheapest windows laptop.
It will support 2 GB RAM memory, wi-fi connectivity, camera, USB port and powered by a 2-watt system to suit poor power supply areas. This laptop is based upon Android OS.Several applications like internet browser, PDF reader etc will also be there.
HCL Technologies Ltd. will manufacture 10,000 units in the first phase. In the first phase only 7 inch version will come out. it will be also available in 2 other version- 5 inch and 9 inch.
The devices will be manufactured at a cost of
1500 a piece,and will be soon available to students.
