Sachin Tendulkar given IAF’s(Air Force) honorary group captain award

Master Blaster and batting maestro of Indian cricket  Sachin Tendulkar become the first ever person from sports background to get the IAF’s group captain rank title.

Mr.P.V Naik,IAF chief Air Chief Marshal grant this prestigious award to Sachin Tendulkar today with great enthusiasm.

Sachin tendulkar has now become one of the members of Air Force(IAF) family.This  award is specially given by Air Force (IAF) to famous and important persons for their contribution to the nation through their great achievements.

The IAF remarked “The President and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of India is pleased to confer Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar the honorary rank of Group Captain of the Indian Air Force”

Sachin after receiving the award said that “It is indeed a great honour that I have been considered for honorary Group Captain in the IAF. As an Indian I am proud to be associated with the dynamic force and I shall do my very best to be brand ambassador for the force”

Except Sachin Tendulkar,former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev was the one who received honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel of the Territorial Army.
