pmPrime Minister Manmohan Singh’s was questioned by BJP on  the his  remark on autonomy for J&K and demanded an explanation from him.

the issue was up held in Rajya Sabha, the party commented the very thought of autonomy is a reversal of Kashmir’s integration with India.

“We are not in favour of giving independence to Kashmir under the garb of autonomy. We are against disintegration of Kashmir from India. Do you think autonomy is a step in the right direction?” said BJP Spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad.

with the closing remarks at a meeting of representatives of various political parties from Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi on Tuesday, the PM had said, “If there is consensus among political parties on autonomy for the state, then it can be considered within the ambit of the Constitution.”

“People of the state must have a life of self-respect and dignity,” PM also included that he was aware of the alienation of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and that it had to be removed. 

Noting that a “political solution” is the key to the problem in Kashmir, Singh kept the  frame work of the constitution on the top…

“We are all servants of the Constitution. There are many shades of opinion in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir. I and my senior ministers present here show our seriousness in addressing the issues,”

Pranab Mukherjee, A K Antony, P Chidambaram, S M Krishna and Ghulam Nabi Azad, and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah were also present at the meeting in the Prime Minister’s House on Tuesday night, which lasted for four hours.

With those participating from the state were National Conference President Farooq Abdullah, CPM leader Mohammed Yusuf Tarigami, Independent MLAs Ghulam Hasan Mir, Congress leader Saif-ud-din Soz, BJP leader Chaman Lal Gupta & Panthers Party Chief Bhim Singh. However the state`s main opposition PDP kept away…..
