Pakistan enters 2011 World Cup Semifinal, beating West Indies by 10 Wickets

23^rd March – 11’, Wednesday Pakistan beat West Indies in the first of the four quaterfinals to book its spot in the semifinal which will be played in Mohali. By winning by 10 wickets, Pakistan have cleared their intention for the 2011 ICC World Cup. On the occasion of Pakistan Day, Pakistan team gifted the nation a spot in the semis.

A inspired performance by the bowlers, restricted West Indies to there 3rd lowest score in world cup. Shahid Afridi took 4 wickets rapping up the tail with key wickets at top of the order.

Mohammad Hafiz – Man of the Match

Opening the bowling and batting for pakistan, Mohammad Hafiz took 2 for 16 in his 10 overs and scoring a unbeaten 61 to deserve a Man of the match award.

West Indies will be winding their bags and heading back to their country with a poor show in todays match. Winning the toss was the only good thing happened to them today and they blew it away with bad batting and bad team selection.

Pakistan will now await the winner of tomorrow’s encounter between Australia and India in Ahmadabad. Winner of this match will face Pakistan in the semi which will be played in Mohali, India.

People are praying for a India Pakistan clash in the semi but forgetting that Australia, a 4 time winner is in their way to the semis. The best thing which can happen to Australia will be they will be getting in the game as underdogs. And an over hyped Indian team has lost games with winning positions.
