PVR Cinemas or Priya Village Roadshow Cinema along with its big screen is all set to enter into Chennai by April 15. It is expected that the new cinema comes near Aminjikarai Anna Nagar. In India, PVR Cinema is the largest cinema chain. It began its operation as a joint venture between Priya Exhibitors Private Limited and Village Roadshow Limited from June 1997 and is the first cinema chain that started multiplex vision in India.
PVR Cinemas has many multiplexes in various cities and states like Gujarat, Hyderabad, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab.Currently, our geographically diverse cinema circuit in India consisted of 27 cinemas with a total of 116 screens spread over Delhi, Faridabad, Gurgaon,
Ludhiana, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Indore, Aurangabad , Baroda, Allahabad Chhattisgarh and Latur. It is expected that the PVR Chennai is to be thrown to the public by 15th April 2010. According to the company, Rs.120 will be the highest ticket price of the PVR.
The next plan of the company is to open 250 screens with an investment of Rs 300-400 crore by 2010. The recently launched two brands of the company are PVR Premiere and PVR Talkies.
Currently PVR Cinemas has cinema halls or multiplexes in Bangalore,Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh(Raipur), Gujarat, Hyderabad, Maharashtra, MP, NCR, Punjab and UP. PVR Cinemas at Ampa Skywalk is expected to Open on April 9th 2010, as per the information. PVR Saket, was the first Multiplex Cinema in India.
