Microsoft has launched its first 4G enabled smartphone in India, the Lumia 638 for Rs.8,299.
Nokia Lumia 638 has Windows Phone 8.1 which runs on a quad-core processor with 1GB RAM and features a ClearBlack 4.5-inch LCD screen with TrueColor. The Lumia 638 will retail exclusively on the newly launched Microsoft Brand Store at Amazon.in. The device will be available for pre-booking starting December 17.
The extra RAM will ensure that the phone is able to run all Windows Phone applications.
On the back, the phone has a 5-megapixel camera, but there is no flash. Even on the front, it has no camera. No front camera means that one will not be able to take selfies.
Internally, the phone also has 8GB of memory, which is expandable using a microSD card slot. The phone also has a 1,830mAh battery.
But the interesting part is that the new Lumia 638 will come bundled with an exclusive offer on Airtel 4G. Lumia 638 consumers on Airtel Post-paid in Bengaluru can enjoy up to 5 GB of free data on 4G for 2 months post activation of their Airtel SIM on the new Lumia 638. This offer will be available only until 31st March 2015.
