It was another sensational 35 run win for the Top team of the season Mumbai Indians as comfortably enters into the final by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore at home ground, Dr. D. Y. Patil Stadium on 21st , April 2010.
After winning the toss Mumbai Captain Sachin Tendulkar decide to bat first, but at the very start the decision was looking doubtful as Mumbai loses both its openers Sachin & Shikhar Dhawan too early. Then wicketkeeper batsmen Ambati Rayadu (40 of 38 balls) played a good partnership and responsible innings with man in form Saurabh Tiwary (52 of 31 balls).
But it was Keiron Polard whose all-round performance lead Mumbai Indians to IPL final after defeating Royal Challengers in first semifinal of IPL-3. Pollard scores a quick 33 of 13 balls and while bowling gives only 17 run for 3 wickets in his spell of 4 overs.
No batsmen show good hands in reply of Mumbai Indians 184, except Dravid and Petersen. Robin Uthappa hits biggies in Harbhjans second over and takes 18 runs of it, but unfortunately couldn’t hold his innings to the end. Mumbai Indian bowlers bowl tight length, Pollard, Malinga, Fernando bowled economically, thus in result of the most awaited win. Mumbai is going to play first time in the final of the IPL. They will play against the winner of the second semifinal which is been played today, between defending Champions Deccan Chargers and two time semifinalists Chennai Super Kings.
The second semifinal will be played at the same stadium and also the finals.
