Mary Kom Can Quit After London Olympics In 2012

The five-time women’s world boxing champion MC Mary Kom. has a keen desire to quit only after winning a gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics. She also said that she is not in a mood to quit her career right now.

MC Mary Kom has won the women’s world boxing championship five times in her career. She is the most successful women in the Indian boxing and the record is not even achieved by any men boxer too.

Mary Kom has participated in Six world championships till now and has won a medal in all of them.

In the first world championship she has won a silver medal and won every  championship after that.

Mary Kom is also a mother of two children.

“I have five world titles but an Olympic gold will make a big difference,”

Mary kom said.  Marry Kom has also won Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratan.

 ”I cannot confirm it now. But yes, quitting after the London Olympics is on my mind. I hope that I bid adieu with a gold.”

She added.

Mary has won all of her gold medals in the 48 kg category but will be participating in the 51 kg in the London Olympics.

 ”I am comfortable with the new weight category and ready to face any contestant.”

She added:

 ”Earlier, women’s boxing did not receive much support but the situation is changing. There is no dearth of talent but they lack opportunities.”

She said on the women’s participation in the boxing in India. Recently she defeated a Delhi boxer on Wednesday with a 22-06 win at the the Senior National Women’s Boxing Championships at Tatya Tope Stadium.
