Maruti Suzuki launches five CNG models in India

One of the biggest automobile companies Maruti Suzuki launches five  CNG models including Alto.

The CNG vehicles were unveiled by Mr. Jairam Ramesh, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) Environment and Forests in the presence of senior government dignitaries and Maruti Suzuki management team. The models include SX4, Eeco, WagonR, Estilo and Alto and are being launched in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Gujarat.

"The CNG models will be very important in our portfolio. We are the first company to come out with factory-fitted CNG cars and we will have the first mover’s advantage in the market," MSI Chief General Manager (Marketing) Shashank Srivastava told reporters here.The company is planning to offer more of these type cars slowly.As it requires more funds and human resources.The CNG variants of these five models are priced between Rs 3.23 lakh and Rs 7.47 lakh.

"The company’s big ticket entry into the CNG fuel segment augurs well for the environment," Nakanishi added.MSI launched the CNG variant of the country’s best-selling car, Alto, at Rs 3.23 lakh.The CNG version of the Estilo will come for Rs 4.05 lakh, while the WagonR variant will be offered for Rs 4.11 lakh. The CNG version of the Eeco is priced at Rs 3.64 lakh, while the SX4 variant will cost Rs 7.47 lakh.
