Today is 144th birth anniversary of Marie Curie, the whole world will remember for her drastic contribution in the field of Science. Marie Sklodowska Curie was born on 7 November1867 was a polish- french physicist-chemist. She was daughter of secondary teacher, recieved general education in local schools. Marie Curie was married to Pierre Curie, professor in school of physics. Marie Curie succedded her husband as head of Physics after the tragic death of her husband.
Marie Curie discovered the mysterious element Radium. It opened the door to the way for changes in the path of scientists regarding matter and energy. Her earlier research together with her husband were often done under quite difficult conditions but certaintly couldn’t determine Curie from her efforts. Its was the her determined efforts only that opened her the path of success and she ws awarded with numerous achievements.
Achievements
She was the first person to be honoured with two Nobel Prizes in physics and chemistry, first female professor at University of Paris, first female to be entombed on hr own merits. In 1903 she shared Nobel prize for Physics with her husband and Henri Becquerel. And in 1911 she was the only winner for Nobel prize in Chemistry. Marie was the first women to honoured and to win two nobel prizes.
