Railway Minister Mamta Banerjee will be presented Railway Budget 2011 -12 in the parliament by the Feb 25th. It is already known that there will be no hike on passenger fares this year.
The rail budget 2011 is expected to focus on passenger amenities, freight issues, reduced delays in investment and infrastructure work, and to think how gross profit exceeds gross expenses.
The revenues and expenditures incurred during the last financial year are as follows:
- Gross earnings during the ongoing financial year is pegged at Rs. 88,281 crores.
- Gross working expenditures incurred during the financial year amounted to Rs. 87,100 crores.
The railway budget 2011, which will be announced on February 25th.
