Mahi Rescued After 86 Hours: Declared Dead

After 86 hours of rigorous hard work by Army, Police and DMRC Team, 5 years old girl Mahi was finally rescued after she accidentally fell into a 70-feet-deep borewell at Kho village near Manesar in Haryana at 11 ‘O’ Clock in the night on 20th June . A team of Doctors was also present at the spot while she was being rescued and thereafter straightaway rushed into the hospital by Army Rescue Team. 

Mahi Rescued but declared Dead

The team of Doctors have declared Mahi dead after examining her. There was delay in the rescue operation because the team was unable to break the hard rock layer and were struggling hard to break it with their equipment. The Army Rescue Operation was headed by Lt Colonel Ashwani Tyagi.

Mahi Rescued by Army Rescue Team but Dead

There was no movement in the body as the rescue team pulled out Mahi from the borewell. Regular Oxygen supply was provided to her during the continuous day and night operation for 4 days. Mahi was said to be screaming, crying and asking for help during initial 2 hours of the incident but later on there was no voice of her that could be heard. Mahi’s arm was spotted in a small footage from a CCTV camera that was put into the pit but it could not be seen moving.

Operation rescue Mahi was one of the longest rescue mission that was undertaken by the Army, Police and DMRC team clubbed together. The whole nation was praying for the well being of the little girl, but unfortunately the child was not able to bear the tough condition.

Death of Mahi has raised big questions for local administration and authorities for not keep track of illegal boring activities taking place , this particular borewell where Mahi Upadhayay was trapped is result of negligence from the land owner who was later arrested by the local Police
