The notice said that the film, in some parts, shows Sikhs in a bad light and hurts religious sentiments. And  the official trailer on Youtube contains such material and the film may contain more.

A senior lawyer Navkiran Singh felt that certain comments like “If Sikhs were not there, then who would have invented abuses” and also “in case Sardar would not have been there, then on whom would the jokes be made”, hurt the sentiments of the community at large.

Navkiran Singh Navkiran requested Devgn to remove such dialogues from the Movie in public interest or his office would take legal action, on the criminal as well as civil side, against Devgn and all other persons involved in execution of this film.
