IPL 5 auction : Ravindra Jadeja goes to CSK for $2 million

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been bought by IPL 4 Champion Chennai Super Kings for whopping $2 million in the tie-breaker.  The Chennai Super Kings and Deccan Chargers had both bid USD2 million for Jadeja but CSK won in tie-breaker.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Brendon McCullum was bought for $900,000 by Kolkata Knight Riders. McCullum also played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League in the first three. but in 2010, he was signed in by Kochi Tuskers Kerala.

Sri Lankan master batsman Mahela Jayawardene has been bought by Delhi Daredevils for $1.4 million.

Muttiah Muralitharan was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for $200,000 while England’s paceman James Anderson was the first to go unsold in the IPL 5 auction.

Herchelle Gibbs goes to Mumbai Indians for $50,000

Rajasthan Royals bought Australian veteran Brad Hodge for $475,000

VVS Laxman goes unsold, is reserve price was $400,000.  Darren Bravo also remains unsold, with a base price of $ 100,00.

A total of 146 players will be auctioned for the available 29 slots as the auction for the fifth edition of the Indian Premier League got underway in Bangalore.
