An Indian Air Force plane, MiG-21, has crashed yesterday on 05th September 2011 near Shambu in Punjab’s Patiala district. An IAF fighter aircraft MiG-21 crashed in Punjab on Tuesday morning.
MiG-21 crashed between Punjab & Haryana, a few minutes after take off near Shambhu barrier. The accident happened near Rajpura town, 50 km from here.
Pilot bailed out safely & there are no report of any causality.
This is the third crash of a MiG series fighter aircraft this year. On 4th FEB 2011, an IAF MiG-21 ‘Bison’ fighter plane had crashed due to some engine problem in Madhya Pradesh’s Sheopur district. After that another mishap happened on Aug 2nd, when an IAF MiG-21 ‘Type-96′ aircraft crashed while landing in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district.
