The Hyper-fast quantum PCs have edged a step closer to become reality for us after scientists for the first time generated 10 billion quantum bits in silicon.
The scientists from Britain, Japan, Canada and Germany are believeing that such computers which are based on quantum bits or qubits, will be able to test many possible solutions to a problem only trying once.
Silicon is the basis of the computer chip and achivement in silicon chip had important implications for integration with existing technology.
John Morton of Oxford University said
“Creating 10 billion entangled pairs in silicon with high fidelity is an important step forward for us, We now need to deal with the challenge of coupling these pairs together to build a scalable quantum computer in silicon,”
