Heavy rains lashed across North India has resulted flood situation in many districts.Heavy rains which began to lash north India recent days  submerged houses in various localities and left the streets waterlogged before ceasing today. Heavy rains lashed most parts of North India for yet another day drenching Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana. Fourteen persons were reported killed. The Central imageWater Commission said water levels in the Ganga are rising in Ballia while the Yamuna is swelling in Mohna, Agra, Etawah and Banda.

Heavy showers disrupted normal life in several parts of north India and triggering landslides and uprooting trees which led to disruption of power supply and telecommunication links at many places.The rains also uprooted trees in many areas of the national capital.Due to heavy rains three more die in Uttar Pradesh.

From the morning till noon, traffic was stuck or at the best crawled at less than a kilometre an hour speed in most places .

According to the India Meteorological Department, the city received 62.5 mm of rainfall from 8.30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, taking the total amount of rainfall this monsoon season to 306 mm.

Authorities have issued an alert to nearby border districts of Muzaffarnagar and Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh after the Ganga crossed the danger level in Haridwar  day before yesterday inundating a large number of villages in the district and destroying crops.

Rains also lashed Sonepat, Ambala, Karnal and a few other places in Haryana and Mohali and Patiala in Punjab bringing down the mercury which dropped by a few notches.
