For all those who loves Saurav Gangualy will be excited after Ganguly’s comeback in the IPL 5. It is expected that Saurav Ganguly is likely to be seen as a Pune Warriors’ mentor-cum-skipper in the next season of Indian Premier League.
Last year Shah Rukh Khan-owned Indian Premier League outfit Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) did not put Gangualy in the team after which Sahara Pune Warriors called Gangualy for the last few matches of the season.
Sahara India Parivar has not yet confirmed the news but had said that ganguly has to play a leading role in the team in the next season.
Nothing has been finalised as yet, but it’s almost certain that Sourav will be given a bigger role this time in IPL 5,”
Abhijit Sarkar, team director of Pune Warriors said.
According to the sources Dada can likely be holding the position of mentor-cum-skipper which is recently hold by Yuvraj Singh.
“Even if Sourav takes up the mentor-cum-skipper’s role, that won’t reduce Yuvraj’s value at all. Yuvraj was our leader last season and remains the main player for the franchise even today,”
the source said.
The sources also made it clear that the decision on this will be taken only in September after dada will finish his owrk in the ongoing India-England series.
“The management and Ganguly haven’t met as yet to discuss this, as it is yet to get the top management’s approval (read chairman Subroto Roy). But we will do so next month. Sourav has also expressed his willingness to perform a bigger role and for a slightly longer period,”
the source added.
