Failure to troubleshoot a technical problem prompted NASA on Thursday to reschedule the launch of its Glory spacecraft from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.
The launch is currently planned for no earlier than Friday, Feb. 25 at 5:09 a.m. EST, NASA said.
This is the second time that NASA has delayed the launch. NASA had set the second launch attempt for Thursday, Feb. 24th.
NASA originally planned to launch the satellite on Wednesday, but during the final 15 minutes before the scheduled launch of 5: 09 a.m. EST, the vehicle interface control console, a ground interface with Orbital Sciences’ Taurus XL rocket, gave an unexpected reading, according to NASA.
But despite efforts by members of the Taurus team to troubleshoot the issue, the technical problem seemed to remain, prompting the launch to be delayed again.
The 434-million-dollar mission is managed by NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland.
Endeavor and Atlantis, are set to make their final journeys into space by the end of June.
