Copa Cup: Peru beat Venezuela For 3rd Place In Copa America



Peru defeated Venezuela to finish third in the Copa America Cup. The star of the match was  Striker Paolo Guerrero who has scored three goals back to back  in the 64th, 89th and two minutes into stoppage time.


Striker Paolo Guerrero Scored his goal in the  64th, 89th  and the last one in the last two minutes of the game.

“I have to help the team and my job as a striker is to score goals,”


Guerrero said.

“I got help from everyone and thank God I got the three goals.”

He added.

Uruguay and Paraguay will be playing the final match of the tournament on Sunday.The host and the defending champion are already defeated in the South American Competition.

“We are happy, but we know it doesn’t mean much, we haven’t won anything,”

Peru’s Uruguayan coach Sergio Markarian said.

Venezuela finished fourth in thr tournament which is their best ever. They were defeated only once in the tournament and will be disappointed after the loss.

“Peru was a great team and it deserved the victory. Venezuela gave all it had and it was unfortunate that we couldn’t take advantage of our scoring opportunities.”

Venezuelan coach Cesar Farias said.

A year ago Peru was the worst team in South American World Cup qualifying and finished third without the presence of their two big players Jefferson Farfan and Claudio Pizarro.
