The concept of the game is the same though far more streamlined and jettisoned robots. The frames of a ridiculous movie are scrutinized by the players who sit in the dark. They comment on the things that were forgotten while making the movie. However, the show is not cynical or mean spirited. Like the MST3K, it also creates playful dialogues. They symbiosis themselves with the movie and the makers.
