BSP MP Avatar Singh and SP Naresh Aggarwal push each other in Rajya Sabha over quota

Bahujan Samaj Party MP Avatar Singh and Samajwadi Party MP Naresh Aggarwal pushed each other in the Rajya Sabha while fighting over the SC/ST Quota Bill on Wednesday. Following the chaos, the Parliamentary affair minister was adjourned till 2pm.

The bill for SC, ST quota for promotion in government jobs was introduced in Rajya Sabha amid commotion.

Continuing protests for the 11th day by the BJP over coal block allocations forced adjournment of the Lok Sabha on Wednesday for a day.

Pawan Kumar Bansal, Parliamentary affair minister”, said he wanted BJP not to disrupt the proceedings today so that the bill can be taken up. He added “We have already lost three weeks due to disruptions. I would request them to let Parliament function for last two days so that important issues could be taken up.

The government on Tuesday cleared a bill providing for reservation to SCs and STs in promotions in government jobs with effect from 1995.
