BSNL to complete 14.37 million Purchase order by the end of February

State Owned, telecom company BSNL, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited,  is now busy in  its technical assessments, and will then consign the telecom equipment purchase order, for 14.37 million lines by end of this month, February.

In July 2011, under the expansion of its 7 phase mobile Network, in the zonal areas of North, East and South, had invited bids for 14.37 million lines and only bidders with a minimum turnover of Rs. 8000 crores were allowed to play a part in this bid. The final selection of the appropriate bidder will be done through e-tender Process.

Earlier, in 2006 the company stated a tender for 45 million lines, but it was later cut short to 14 million in 2007. After that, it came up with two more tenders in 2008 and 2010, for 93 million and 5.5 million lines respectively, but they were later on cancelled.
