An Air India Plan A-319 with 128 people on board on Monday made an made an emergency landing at Pakistan’s Nawab Shah airport in Sindh province after developing a technical problem with its hydraulic system. The plane landed at Nawabshah airport in southern Sindh province at 3. 37 am local time.
The Pilot decided to make an emergency landing in Pakistan after doubting hydraulic failure in the Airbus, which was an endemic problem in its old generation A-320s. ‘All 122 passengers and six crew members on board the Airbus 319 aircraft are safe, Air India officials said.
The Pilot contacted Pakistani authorities and sought approval for an emergency landing after noticing the problem with the hydraulic system, Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority spokesman Pervez George told PTI.
“We are transfer a assistance aircraft at 10.45am to get back the travelers to Delhi. A technical squad is also being sent to Pakistan to assess the aircraft and take it back to Delhi as a ferry flight,” said AI spokesman GP Rao. He also said, There is no clarity on whether the travelers spent the night inside the aircraft or were allowed to go to the Hotels.
The relief aircraft is expected to reach .Delhi around 2pm.
