The Whirlpool Corporation, an American multinational manufacturer of major home appliances unveiled a new range of products in six categories, price ranging from Rs 10, 000 to Rs 100,000. The firm currently has 18 percent market share and is targeting to raise it upto 25 percent.
The Whirlpool Corporation is also planned to invest Rs. 200 crore in the development of new products and their marketing. Company on Thursday presented varying products in the Fridge, Washing Machine, Air Conditioner, Microwave, Water Purifier, and built in Kitchen appliances categories. The new range of products was launched on Thursday at the Lalit, Barakhamba Avenue, Delhi, and were presented by the Brand Ambassador of the company “Kajol”.
“With this launch we are aiming for leadership in Refrigerators and Washers in the next 18 months and overall leadreship in home appliances in the next 3 years”, said Arvind Uppal, Chairman and Managing director, Whirlpool India.
Whirlpool has also hiked the price of its product by 2 percent in various categories due to excise rate hike. Whirlpool also aims to enhance strategic cooperation and expansion in the Chinese market. Kajol and Ajay Devgan will be very soon seen in the company’s advertisement.
