2G spectrum : Kanimozhi and Sharad Kumar questioned by Deputy Director officer

2G spectrum : M Karunanidhi”s daughter Kanimozhi and Kalaignar TV Managing Director Sharad Kumar, both were questioned by a Deputy Director level officer, for about over the Rs 200 crore transaction from Shahid Balwa-owned DB Realty to Kalaignar TV. IT officials said on condition of anonymity that today’s enquiry focused on the Rs 200 crore transaction from DB Realty, whose proprietor Balwa is a co-accused in the 2G spectrum case, to Kalaignar TV. 

A Delhi court had allowed Kanimozhi and Kumar exemption from personal appearance even as it is slated to pronounce its verdict on their bail plea on May 14. Both Kanimozhi and Kumar had already appeared before the Enforcement Directorate office in New Delhi in connection the 2G spectrum case. 

The CBI’s supplementary charge-sheet in this case, filed on April 25, had named six new accused, including Kanimozhi, and Sharad Kumar, Kalaignar TV’s MD and Swan Telecom promoter Shahid Usman Balwa’s cousin Asif Balwa.
