Hindi was our National Language. Hindi Diwas was celebrated every year on 14th September. Hindi Diwas was celebrated on 14th September because on 14th September, 1949, Hindi was declared official language by the Constitutional Assembly.
Hindi divas is celebrated on 14 September because on this day Hindi was considered as our national language in Indian Constitution. On this occasion “Hindi Day” and “Raj Bhasha Award” distribution function is being organized on 14th September, 2010 in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
At the function the Vice President will give away Rajeev Gandhi Gyan-Vigyan Maulik Pustak Lekhan Puraskar and Indira Gandhi Raj Bhasha Purskar 2008-09 for original book writing in Hindi and Indira Gandhi Raj Bhasha Purskar 2008-09 for excellent work done in Hindi in the Offices of the Central Government and public sector undertakings etc. & Grih Patrika Purskar for publications by Ministries/ Departments in 2009-10. On this occasion, 53 awards will be given away in the form of Shields / Certificates/ Cash.
The program being organized on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the adoption of Hindi as Official Language by the Constitutional Assembly will help create an atmosphere for successful implementation of the official language policy of the Union.
Hindi Divas was celebrated in many schools and colleges of the city.
Students recited poems and read papers to show the importance of Hindi. Various Religious & Cultural Programs were held in the schools. The students recited dohas of Kabir, Ravidas, Rahim and Vrind. The students and teachers used the Hindi language in their conversation throughout the day. No one was allowed to talk in any other language. Various inter-house and inter-section competitions were organized in the schools. The competitions included a quiz, a word-chain antakshri, picture composition, recitation and painting competitions.
